Itinerary

Arrive in Moscow (DME or SVO airports), and transfer to your hotel (-/-/-)

After breakfast we will go on a city tour in one of the most impressive cities in Europe, Moscow. We will visit very important places like the Red Square and one of the most beautiful Russian style churches, St. Basil's and the Kremlin, among other important places. In the afternoon we will have a free time. Overnight in the Hotel (B/-/-)

Depending on the flight departures, we will have breakfast at the hotel in Moscow and then drive to the airport in order to fly to Mineral Vody, which will take us around 2 hours. From here we still have 3.5h to 4h drive in a private vehicle to our hotel in Baksan Valley. Upon arrival we will have some free time to check all the gear and, if needed, rent it. Overnight in the Hotel (B/-/-)

Note: We highly recommend you to plan your arrival to Mineral Vody before 01:00 pm., because our transportation will depart at this time to Terskol, if you’re later be ready to pay an extra cost of at least USD.60.00 for private transportation

After breakfast we will ride a chair lift to the middle station at (8,858ft/2.700m), then hike to Cheget Cupola, where we can admire amazing views of Elbrus and the other surrounding mountains and valleys. Our hike will take us around 4 to 5 hours round trip. Overnight in the hotel (B/BL/-)

We will start after breakfast. It will be a long hiking day up to Cheget Observatory, as well as a good adaptation to the altitude and preparation for the coming days. We will return back to the hotel by late afternoon. Overnight in the Hotel (B/BL/-)

We will have breakfast and will bring all the gear we will need for the next 3 to 4 in the mountain. We will drive to the cable car station, which will bring us higher, up to the Barrils huts. Once here we accommodate our belongings in our cabins and go up to Priyut hut for some training on the ice. We learn some basic techniques about glacier travel and safely, get used to with crampons, ice axes, rope, etc. We will go back to our cabins for dinner and overnight here (B/BL/D)

We will have breakfast in the morning and prepare our climbing gear in order to go for our last acclimatization day to Pastukhov Rocks. It will take us around 3 hours to get to this place. If the weather allows, we will stay here for a while and then go back to Barrils hut in about 1.5 hours, to relax and prepare for the next day. Dinner will be served by late afternoon and overnight in the cabins (B/BL/D)

We will get a light breakfast very early in the morning, around 2:00 am, and we will be picked up by Snow-Cat (Tractors) which will drive us up higher than Pastukhov Rocks at (15,583ft/4.750m). From this point we will start our climb to the top. The first section is a very long traverse which leads to the saddle (17,387ft/5.300m) of the West and East summits. The last section will turn steeper,  some slopes up to 40°, where we must be more focused on our technique and be roped up. Once we get the summit ridge it is flat going until we reach the summit. From here we can admire the beauty of the Caucasus Range; the north side of Elbrus itself is unique and the sharp and technical mountains like Ushba Pyramid, considered the Caucasian Matterhorn. It will take us about 5 to 6 hours to get to the summit and another 4 to 5 hours to get back to the Barrils huts. Dinner and overnight here (B/BL/D)

We will have this day spare, in case of weather issues. If we already successfully summited, we will spend our last day in town and celebrate! (B/BL/-) or (B/-/-)

We will have breakfast, and then drive for about 3.5 to 4 hours to Mineral Vody airport, from where we will fly another 2 hours to Moscow or Saint Petersburg. Transfer to your hotel ( B/-/-)
