Ascent of Mount Everest (29,030ft/8.848m) – May 19, 2025
The ascent of Mount Everest is one of the most notable milestones in Edgar Parra’s career as a mountaineer. Edgar took six hours to climb from Camp 4 to the summit and two hours to descend. After a previous attempt on an expedition, he successfully reached the summit while leading and guiding an international team of climbers. He went as a guide, it had always been his dream to work in such an environment, and he achieved it. This accomplishment, carried out as part of an international expedition, required rigorous physical and mental preparation in the mountains of Ecuador, among the most notable of which are Rucu Pichincha, Illiniza Norte, Cotopaxi, Antisana, Antisana and the most important Chimborazo (20,702ft/6.310m) due to its height. This preparation was complemented by strategic planning that enabled him to successfully face the challenges of extreme altitude, adverse weather, and the technical demands of the mountain. Reaching the world’s highest peak as a guide not only demonstrates discipline, resilience, and determination, but also highlights leadership skills, risk management, and teamwork under the most demanding conditions. This international achievement supports his professional experience as an expedition guide and reinforces his commitment to excellence in every challenge he undertakes in the field of mountaineering and adventure.
