INTINERARY

 After a delicious breakfast in Cotopaxi National Park, we will leave the Lodge and will drive slowly as high as we can for an hour, which usually is until around 13,448ft/4.100m, from this place we will follow a grassy ridge until we to the rocky steep place from where we will go to the right of the mountain, on slippery gravel terrain,  and loose rocks, we will be walking up for about 4 hours  until we will get the last section, which is a 30 m of almost vertical easy scrambling that leads to the summits of Sincholagua,  the ascension   will take us between 3 to 4 hours and  another 2-3 hours going, we might use one rappel to descend from the summit  and will walk down the rest of the trail to the car. And finally we will drive back for another hour and get Tambopaxi Lodge by late afternoon.  Overnight and dinner here (-/BL/-)

We will leave from Quito early in the morning and drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes to the Cotopaxi National Park entrance. From this point it will take us around 30 more minutes to get to the place called “Limpiopungo” (12,139ft/3.700m). It is a beautiful lake in the heart of the national park with gorgeous views of surrounding peaks including Cotopaxi. The first section is a hike starting along the lake up through small Andean grass. Then we will get on a sandy section, which leads to the last sections, which involves some short and technical walls, much scrambling, and loose rocks, we will get the summit of Rumiñahui Sur (15,436ft/4.706m) after  4 hours of hiking and climbing; on the descend we will use a couple of rappels and the rest of the trail we will just walk down to the parking place, it will take us about 8 hours the round trip. We will just drive for few minutes to stay at Tambopaxi Lodge which is located in Cotopaxi National Park. Overnight and dinner hat this place (-/BL/-)

We will leave from Quito (9,186ft/2.800m) early in the morning and drive southeast for about an hour through the Andean highlands until we get to the trailhead (10,827ft/3.300m). The hike goes through an amazing primary Andean forest, great for bird watching, we can easily encounter the exotic hummingbirds during the hike, as we gain elevation will be able to see the surrounding snow caped mountains such as Antisana, Cayambe, Illinizas, Cotopaxi and even Chimborazo far away to the south on a clear day. Once close to the summit (13,875/4.230m), we will start hiking by a ridge of the deep forest covered caldera which takes us to the true summit soon after. It will take us about 6 hours round trip. Return to Quito by late afternoon (-/BL/-)


We will leave from Quito (9,186ft/2.800m) early in the morning and drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes until we get to the village of “El Chaupi”.  We will continue driving up to the trailhead (13,120ft/4.000m), where we start our hike. The first part of the hike takes us up through the small Andean grass. Then we will get on the sandy and scramble section, which leads to Corazon summit (15,702ft/4786m). We will have lunch during the hike. It’ll take us about 8 hours round trip. Return to Quito by late afternoon (-/BL/-)
